Hands...in the key of V

start

verb (used without object)
1.
to begin or set out, as on a journey or activity.
2.
to appear or come suddenly into action, life, view, etc.; rise or issue suddenly forth.

So what exactly am I doing here? If you know me well, you know I am a bit of a wordsmith. I love words. The way different words feel in your mouth. The way they taste. I love how certain words evoke certain emotions and visions. [A couple favorites are conjure, endure, enchant, and intrigue]. Things like onomatopoeia and alliteration get me excited. So, what better way to start my blog than with a definition of the word start? This definition tells me I am beginning on a journey. Through my writing on various thoughts, opinions, dreams, etc. I plan to learn about myself a bit more--to  journey deeper into what makes my heart skip a beat and speaks to my soul. My focus in this blog will be fashion, decor, music, wordplay, and the occasional random musing.  I plan on being completely self-indulgent with this, so without further ado...

My secret dream is to become a hand model. Yes, just like Joey on Friends. My hands are probably my favorite physical feature. Now, I have no idea how to go about looking into this. I guess I should Google it.

Okay.....I'm back. And of course, there is a Wiki-how of just what to do to become a hand model in five easy steps. http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Hand-Model
Well, I already know I have awesome hands so I can skip steps 1 and 2. On to step 3. Create a portfolio. I guess that makes sense. Regular models have portfolios, so hand models do too. Alrighty then, here is picture number one.

Bear in mind I just took this picture in crappy light with my not-so-stellar IPAD camera, by pushing the capture button with my nose (I couldn't hold the IPAD and hit the button at the same time.) What do you think? Do I have the potential?

Happy Friday everyone!!!

  1. Love it - I'm curious to know why 'start' vs. 'begin' or 'commence'? And as for your love of words and their sensuality, honey, get out of my head! ;)

  2. The only reason I chose "start" was because I liked the definition better than the definition for "begin." : )

  3. I really like your start and your hand picture. I know you love words and you're very good with them ;) Didn't know you wanted to be a hand model. Go for it!
